Workshops sign up for free NGK Academy training

Workshop visitors to the MechanEX show at Sandown Park have been rushing to sign up for a free trial of NGK’s new training initiative.
The ignition and sensor specialist this month launched NGK Academy and was offering members of its BoxClever independent garage loyalty scheme a free three-month trial worth £89.99 + VAT.
NGK Academy is aimed at supplying essential training primarily to workshops, but with the content also of value to aftermarket distributors.
The portal includes 270+ technical training videos across a myriad of technical subjects/components by automotive training experts Our Virtual Academy (OVA) who have also created a suite of bespoke industry leading training videos on spark plugs with further NGK/NTK product focused training being developed in the future.
The spark plug training videos, three of OVA’s core training videos and other existing NGK/NTK training content, is free to access for all once they have enrolled on the portal, but there will be a charge for accessing the full suite of 270+ videos etc.
NGK staff and Ben Stockton, Managing Director of OVA, were kept busy throughout the two-day Sandown show to explain to visitors the benefits of signing up to NGK Academy.

NGK Academy is available online 24/7, 365 days of the year meaning training can be undertaken during downtime in the workshop which means there is no negative impact on business.
OVA training videos are on topics such as vehicle electrics, petrol and diesel engine management, chassis, hybrid and HVAC.
There’re also comprehensive training videos on electric vehicles (EVs) and access to OVA’s dedicated content associated to the formally recognised qualification IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement QFQUAL I.D 60314680.
