WAI partners with new breed of motor factor

Date: Thursday 10 December 2020

WAI has reached an agreement with LSA Supplies Ltd, the latest name to commence trading in the automotive aftermarket, supplying garages in the south of England with the rotating electric specialist’s expanding portfolio.

Started by Luke Sperring during the first coronavirus lockdown, the motor factor is currently meeting demand from garages by focusing on a specific range of products and services, including COVID-19 safety products.

WAI recognises the importance of technicians having access to the appropriate equipment, and over the course of the year, it has used its global supply chain to source products the automotive aftermarket requires to keep business moving. For example, the company has made a high-level, non-corrosive vehicle disinfectant cleaner, STERI-7, available to motor factors, including LSA Supplies.

STERI-7 is a global brand used by Government facilities, and technicians simply need to spray the ready-to-use disinfectant inside the vehicle and close the doors.

A few seconds later bacteria, viruses and spores on that surface will be eradicated up to 99.99%.

Once it has been left to dry, a reactive barrier is created on the surface, which will then regenerate to give up to seven days’ added protection.

The STERI-7 vehicle kit also comes complete with a five-litre pump sprayer, 100 ‘This vehicle has been sanitised’ stickers and a pack of 10 disposable masks.

WAI has also been able to source and donate much-needed personal protective equipment (PPE) to charities, hospices and hospitals across the UK.

Richard Welland, WAIglobal UK managing director and IAAF vice-president said:

“LSA Supplies is a great example of how a business, started in lockdown, can meet the needs of an evolving market and bring likeminded companies along with them. They continue to show flexibility and the company’s progression will be one to watch in the coming years.”

Since beginning trading with LSA Supplies, the company has built up a strong reputation for customer service and supplies products such as oils, filters, braking, batteries, rotating electrics and tools from leading brands, including WAI, Draper, Castrol, Varta and Brembo.

Sperring has some big plans for the future:

“We’ve received an excellent reception from garages and have operated an inclusive approach, working with other motor factors to ensure a consistent supply to garages, at a time when demand is so high. Throughout the pandemic garages and technicians must stay safe when working on cars and so we’ve adapted our stock to ensure just that, supplying WAI vehicle sanitiser kits and the Steri-7 retail bottle.
“We’ve got big plans for growth and I want to thank suppliers, particularly Richard from WAI, for their support.”
