TecRMI have issued their latest repair case where the controller for the upper control unit of the wiper and washer system on a Mercedes Benz Vito Bus/Panel Van malfunctions.

- B226C2A
- Controller for upper control unit: malfunction

Fault symptoms:

- When switching on the ignition, the rear window wiper is activated automatically 9 times.
- After the rear window wiper has switched off by itself, manual switching on is not possible.
- Manual activation of the rear window washer pump is not possible.

Technical background:

CAN bus communication is disturbed by an accessory radio.

Potential fix:

The accessory radio must be programmed in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's instructions.
