Technical Training available: oil consumption vs. friction reduction
Date: Friday 25 November 2022
The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers, in conjunction with the SoE and IRTE, is sponsoring technical training free of charge to workshop employees and engine reconditioners.
The friction reduction of modern engines is immediately noticeable in the fuel consumption and a drop in CO2 emissions and an increase in vehicle range, but what effect does the friction reduction have on the entire tribology of the crank mechanism?
The training course will cover the new challenges that are arising in the development and repair of such engines and will highlight the key aspects of the trend and its associated changes.
Contents
- influence of viscosities of the oils
- design features and differences in the construction
- sealing problems and damage to piston rings
- increased oil consumption due to incorrect running-in process
- roughness and other relevant parameters of the treads
- coated cylinder surfaces
- questions and answers.
