NGK welcomes Chris Barrett to sales team

Ignition and sensor specialist NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd has appointed Chris Barrett as a new Sales Representative.

The 53-year-old takes over the Home Counties and ‘M1 Corridor’ area previously covered by Steve Padbury, who retired recently.

Chris has spent 25 years in the automotive aftermarket, most recently as a Sales Representative for Standard Motor Products Europe (SMPE) where he looked after sales for a number of brands including Intermotor.

He said:

“I am delighted to be joining a market leader such as NGK which is one of the first-tier brands in the market-place. It is one of the few brands which are recognised right through to the end-user and specified by garage customers.

“I know I have some big shoes to step in to but I hope that my past experience will help me to quickly settle in and I cannot wait to work with the NGK sales team and my new customers.”

Chris, who lives at Byfleet, Surrey, is married, to Ruth, and has daughters Jessica (24) and Katie (22). Outside of work, his hobbies include “anything to do with cars” and rugby and cycling.

NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd is an original equipment (OE) supplier of spark plugs, glow plugs and NTK Lambda and associated engine management sensors to many of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers (VMs), with the same components being supplied to the UK and Ireland automotive aftermarket.
