The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation

New focus for IAAF CV

Date: Friday 05 May 2023

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has appointed Sue McKay, global category manager for commercial vehicles at TMD Friction, onto the Federation’s Council as its new head of the commercial vehicle (CV) section.

The Federation recently confirmed new council members at its most recent annual general meeting held at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, including formalising the appointment of new president, Craig McCracken.

McKay accedes the IAAF council role following an illustrious 25-year-long career in the commercial vehicle aftermarket, complementing her current position as global category manager for CV at braking specialist TMD Friction.

Sue McKay said:

“I’m delighted to join the IAAF council as head of the commercial vehicle section. I’ve been part of the IAAF CV committee for some time examining how the forum is led and developed.
“Together with [IAAF chief executive officer] Mark Field, we have tabled several topics affecting the commercial vehicle parts aftermarket, and will work with suppliers, distributors, and end users to addresses these challenges head on.
“We’re also going to develop interest within CV among colleges and schools, and engage more, new commercial vehicle members onto the IAAF committee to discuss how the Federation can best meet the needs of their business.”

Mark Field, chief executive at IAAF, said:

“I’m delighted to confirm Sue McKay’s appointment as our new head of the CV section. Having someone so enthusiastic and knowledgeable in the role will galvanise the Federation to help us carve out a recognisable identity for CV, with new, dedicated and regular communications to the wider aftermarket on CV activity, and gathering of further market intelligence so we can advocate for the sector’s needs.”

As an independent trade body, IAAF fights for the rights of the aftermarket supply chain including retained access to vehicle repair information to ensure they're on a level playing field with vehicle manufacturers.
