LKQ Euro car parts kicks off 2024 with Protyre Autocare win

Date: Thursday 18 January 2024

LKQ Euro Car Parts has announced a new partnership with Protyre Autocare, which will see the motor factor act as the primary aftermarket supplier for the business the next five years.

Protyre Autocare is the UK’s fastest growing supplier and fitter of tyres, with a wider service offering including MOTs, vehicle servicing, wheel alignment and air con maintenance. With 184 branches across the country, Protyre Autocare boasts one of the UK’s largest DVSA-approved networks of test centres.

The new relationship will see LKQ Euro Car Parts awarded first line supplier status, with Protyre Autocare set to benefit from the parts supplier’s extensive distribution network and unparalleled catalogue of products. LKQ Euro Car Parts will also act as sole supplier for oils and lubricants.

Protyre Autocare branches will also benefit from priority access to the LKQ Academy - the aftermarket’s leading training platform - to aid the continued professional development of employees as the aftermarket continues to evolve.

Moving forwards, the partnership will also see the two companies seek to collaborate in tackling wider challenges, including the transition to net zero.

Kevan Wooden, Chief Executive at LKQ Euro Car Parts, said: “It’s been exciting to watch Protyre cement its position as one of the sector’s fastest growing players in recent years, and we’re proud to have been chosen as the supplier tasked with supporting its continued growth over the next half a decade.

“Alongside our shared passion for providing customers with the best possible service, LKQ Euro Car Parts and Protyre are aligned on a range of core values including our commitment to sustainability and our mission to protect the integrity of the aftermarket. Collaboration in this vein will be key if we are to continue championing the role of garages in the UK’s automotive ecosystem.

Stan Watson, Retail Director at Protyre Autocare said: “At what is a pivotal time for the aftermarket, it’s important to us that - alongside providing a top level of service for our customers - we’re able to use our position to help the sector adapt to the ever-changing automotive landscape.

“LKQ Euro Car Parts’ reputation amongst the UK aftermarket speaks for itself – not only for offering the best training and product availability, but for being a champion for issues that matter, be it facilitating the transition to net zero or its vital work around block exemption regulation.”
