IAAF Activity Report w-e 19 November 2021

Date: Friday 19 November 2021

A summary of some of the activities undertaken by the IAAF Secretariat on behalf of the membership and the wider aftermarket during an extremely busy week.

New members join IAAF
We have a number of new companies applying for membership of IAAF, with the Federation unveiling a host of new initiatives and networking opportunities for 2022 at its upcoming conference.

Virtual Conference planning
DVSA, former Dyson CEO Martin McCourt and Professor David Bailey are also signed up to speak at the IAAF Conference headline sponsored by Alliance Automotive Group. You can register HERE.  Attendance at the event will be charged at £49+vat per company (unlimited access for employees), with £5 of the fee going towards funding of UK AFCAR, a coalition set-up to lobby UK government in a post-Brexit era. Visitors will receive an exclusive electronic event programme and access to the post-conference video. Everyone must register to receive their unique link.

Future of Transport Regulatory Review
IAAF, through UK AFCAR, will contribute to the UK Department of Transport (DfT) ‘Future of transport regulatory review’.

We have looked in further detail into what this covers and we feel strongly that this concerns a number of aftermarket issues. Many of the questions are still very much at the ‘investigative stage’, but they show that the DfT are clearly planning to use the approach/responses as the basis of future legislation that will impact the UK Aftermarket.

Member meetings
The IAAF continues to conduct daily member meetings, in person and virtually. The Federation is always listening to the market and keen to support member activity across a wide range of issues.
