GSF attracting “global interest”

Sukhbir Kapoor, President and COO, GSF Car Parts has spoken to IAAF on the company’s future following the acquisition of its parent company Uni-Select by LKQ Corporation.

Sukhbir told the Federation:

“Comparisons with other acquisitions are misleading and unhelpful to the business, its customers and suppliers. GSF is a profit-making business with an exceptionally bright future.

“LKQ Corporation will not be involved in the day-to-day running of the GSF business and we continue to move ahead with our investment plans that will see a number of internal improvements to the organisation for the benefit of the independent garages.”

Sukhbir added he had been encouraged by early ‘global interest’ shown in the business and that the GSF leadership team is closely involved in supporting the divestment process with Uni-Select. Following the announcement of the acquisition, Sukhbir has communicated regularly with GSF’s 2500+ staff in 180 branches throughout the UK to reassure them that the business remains unaffected by the acquisition and to reaffirm GSF’s ambition and commitment to leading the aftermarket in the future.
