When replacing the VVT hub, FAI recommend that the oil control valve is replaced at the same time. The oil control valve is often overlooked during a chain kit installation. The valve plays a critical role in delivering oil to the VVT hub and by leaving a heavily used part in situ, it can starve the hub of oil.
