EV Ready tickets on sale for garages seeking aftermarket guidance amid industry shift

Date: Thursday 25 August 2022

Tickets have gone on sale for the UK’s first ever independent garage event dedicated to electric vehicle skills, equipment and technology – EV Ready – which is set to be held at Brighton Racecourse on the evening of January 25, 2023.

Headline sponsored by GSF Car Parts and hosted by Garage Wire, EV Ready is bringing the UK aftermarket’s EV expertise together under one roof for the benefit of independent garage owners and technicians.

Around 40 aftermarket exhibitors will highlight the EV-related parts, equipment and training available to independents, including the likes of the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance (HEVRA), ZAP ME, Our Virtual Academy, Autotech Training, Pico Technology, Schaeffler and Delphi. A live EV discussion panel is set to be just one of the evening’s highlights and promises to offer expert advice and guidance to those curious about what opportunities EVs can bring to independent garages.

Automotive author, Tom Denton is the latest industry figure to have confirmed participation in the panel. Having researched, wrote and published more than 30 automotive textbooks and as a Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), a member of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers and the Society of Automotive Engineers, he’s well placed to discuss industry change.

Speaking ahead of EV Ready, Tom said:

“We are used to change, for example carburation to fuel injection, basic braking to ABS and computerisation of, well, everything. However, the switch from internal combustion engines (ICE) to a zero emission electric vehicles (EV) future is, I think, the most rapid period of change out industry has ever experienced.”

EV Ready will welcome garage owners and technicians from across the UK, all eager to draw upon the EV expertise of the aftermarket’s biggest brands and respected experts. Food and drink will be available during the evening, courtesy of Delphi Technology and Sykes-Pickavant respectively, and attendees can expect to pick-up special show deals, brand freebies and the opportunity to win some big prizes.

Garage Wire Editor, Mike Ruff said:

“We’ve already sold more than 100 tickets within hours of the box office opening, so we’re really excited to host this much-needed event for independent garages. Whether you’re already starting to think about EVs, or are yet to be convinced of the opportunities, come along and find out what’s happening in your industry.”

With a limited number of tickets available, garages are advised to book early to guarantee entry. EV Ready tickets are available online now for just £5.00 and include a drink and food. Doors open at Brighton Racecourse at 5.00pm on January 25, 2023.
