With a host of prizes for the final top 10, there’s still time for technicians to enter the DENSO League of True Mechanics (LOTM) competition and potentially be crowned a regional champion.

The pan European LOTM competition not only rewards the top technicians in their own regions with a selection of prizes, which in the UK includes a £250 and then a £500 Red Letter Day experience for the third and second placed finishers and a fantastic European Grand Prix experience for two, for the winner, but also culminates with an overall champion across all the regions, who will receive a prize worth 2,000 Euros!

As DENSO is widely recognised as one of the most technically proficient automotive parts manufacturers, the competition naturally combines technical training and online learning with assessments, during which they have the opportunity to win DENSO coins. These coins are awarded by correctly answering the question posed by a ‘mini quiz’ that periodically appears within the modules and then in the final exam at the end.

This year, the four courses that provide the content for the competition include an air conditioning compressors module, another on the basic steps of air conditioning servicing, plus a focus on cabin air filters, with the fourth on PowerEdge wiper blades.

The PowerEdge course is particularly interesting as the brand is not part of the conventional DENSO range, but developed to cater for the growing demand for a cost effective solution manufactured to satisfy aftermarket standards and specifications. The wipers are available in both contemporary flat blade and conventional designs, packaged in cardboard cartons to reduce their environmental impact and each range features 12-part numbers, to provide a competitive, high value aftermarket solution.
