DENSO received Supplier Excellence Award from JLR

On 30th May 2023, DENSO received the JLR 2023 Supplier Excellence Award for its top performance as a supplier and for exemplifying JLR’s core value of “Unity”.

For the seventh year, JLR has celebrated the outstanding achievements of its global supply chain at the annual Supplier Excellence Awards. The winners were recognised for their extraordinary contributions to JLR’s business, cost transformation, and operational delivery over the course of the last year.

This year, the Supplier Excellence Awards were based on the recently introduced “Creators’ Code” values at JLR. JLR’s purpose is to “Live the Exceptional with Soul” by being the proud creators of modern luxury, and an integral part of this is being guided by a set of behaviours that they call the Creators' Code: Customer Love; Unity; Integrity; Growth; Impact.

For the first time, JLR used these five core values to award their top performing suppliers.

DENSO’s award was in the Unity category. Unity rewards suppliers who truly demonstrate that they work as one team. The reasons for the award are continuous support and contribution as a partner in the Thermal area, especially innovative technology, quality, Monozukuri based on the DENSO way, and communication and behaviour as a partner.

The award was presented by BBC TV Sports Presenter Gaby Logan and in her speech, she said the following: “DENSO supplies a variety of Climate System solutions to JLR and is an excellent supplier with multiple capabilities and behaviours that JLR consider to be benchmarks. Their focus on quality and continuous improvement is of particular note. Their manufacturing plant in Telford (DMUK) has an outstanding “Parts per Million” (PPM) record, and every individual at the plant, irrespective of grade or responsibility, strives every day to produce a product that will delight the end customer.”

DNUK Managing Director Alan Richards, who received the award on DENSO’s behalf along with Ishizuka san, Group Head, OE Sales, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation: “I would like to express my appreciation to all team members involved with JLR for this hugely important customer recognition.”
