Bulls set to join forces on the race circuit

Two bulls are coming together looking to create a formidable force on the oval track racing scene here in the UK. And it all centres on Banner – one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of batteries and battery accessories – having signed a major sponsorship agreement with an up and coming race team ahead of the 2023 season.

Indeed it is a move that sees Banner’s famous ‘Wall Street’ bull join forces with a rising star of oval track racing, Charlie Bull. As sole sponsors for both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Charlie Bull’s racecar has been emblazoned with the vibrant red Banner bull branding. And for added visibility out of the race track arena, the team’s accompanying trailer has also been Banner branded to provide greater exposure for ‘The Power Company’ when on the road between race events.

Commenting on the decision to sponsor the Charlie Bull race team, Banner’s Country Manager, Lee Quinney said:

“We had our eyes on Charlie’s progress during his debut season last year and feel the time is now right to support him in his endeavour to make a real impact within the field of oval track racing in the UK. He is a highly focused young man with the driving talent and ability to really stand out over the next couple of seasons. And now, with Banner’s support and standing as one of the leading manufacturers of starter and auxiliary batteries that are the preferred original equipment choice of the likes of Audi, BWM, Aston Martin, Mercedes, Morgan, Porsche, Roll-Royce, Seat, Skoda and VW etc, we are confident this will give him the momentum required to achieve new heights and become a regular on the podium this year.”

Having finished the 2022 season in a respectable 12th place out of a field of 33 in the national points championship, 19-year old Charlie went on to become the 2022 oval track legends champion in the 1200cc category.

Looking forward to having received the backing of such a well-known sponsor from within the automotive field, an exuberant Charlie said:

“When I took the call from Lee at Banner towards the end of last season, I was obviously thrilled and excited by the prospects of being given the chance to secure the much needed backing from such a market leading manufacturer. To now be in a position to take to the race track with the car looking as professional and powerful as it does is an added incentive for me to achieve the success that the team has the capability of realising this season.

“Our focus is for me to obviously bring home a first place podium finish and for Charlie Bull Racing to improve on its national championship standing. I would like to thank Banner for entrusting their support in both my abilities and those of the CBR team,” he added.

The UK oval track racing season centres on 16 events that take place across circuits predominantly within the Midlands and across the south of England. It is a closed circuit motorsport that is contested on an oval-shaped racetrack, with cars travelling in an almost universally counter-clockwise direction. Each race event involves three races; 20 laps across two qualifying events and a 25-lap final. Each lap is normally completed in a time of 15/16 seconds, with cars reaching speeds in excess of 65 mph.
