Avoiding falls from workplace vehicles

Falls from vehicles are among the most common accidents involving workplace transport.
By law, employers must take suitable and effective measures to:
- prevent anyone from falling a distance that is likely to hurt them
- prevent anyone from being hit by a falling object.

A company was recently fined £200,000 after a man working unsecured on the forks of a fork-lift truck fell 3.5 metres to the ground.
