Arnold Clark Autoparts systems restored

Date: Friday 06 January 2023

Following suspicious traffic being identified on the Arnold Clark network on 23rd December, Arnold Clark chose to bring down its entire network voluntarily in order to protect its customers and systems from cyber criminals.

This caused disruption to the business, including the Arnold Clark Autoparts motor factors division, as phone lines were also affected.

Thanks to the hard work carried out by the Group’s IT department, all systems in the Autoparts side of the business have now been restored, meaning they can now serve customers as normal.

Group Factor Manager Craig McCracken said:

“We’d like to apologise to our customers for the disruption they’ve encountered in the past few days. Our teams have been working tirelessly to allow us to resume our usual high levels of service across all Arnold Clark Autoparts branches, and as of today, customers should be able to transact with us as they did before Christmas.”
“Protecting our customers and their data has been our priority throughout this process, and thankfully our internal teams and external cyber security consultants have confirmed no data has been compromised.”

Arnold Clark Autoparts confirmed that the new trade website, launched in 2022, gave customers some normality throughout this period, as the site was unaffected by the phone system issues and stock feeds were maintained throughout.

With branches stretching from Inverness to the West Midlands, Arnold Clark Autoparts supplies a huge range of aftermarket and franchise parts, consumables and tyres to customers through its network of over 200 vans.
