TMD Friction offers support to Martin House Hospice

Date: Friday 10 September 2021

TMD Friction UK has supported Martin House Hospice, based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire, donating two branded rucksacks, two Bluetooth speakers and two teddies.

Martin House provides family-led care for children with life shortening conditions across West, North and East Yorkshire. It is a place where children, young people and their families can come to stay from time to time along their journey and find support, rest and practical help.

Chris Verney, Regional Fundraiser at Martin House Hospice was delighted with the gifts, commenting:

“We’d like to say a big thank you to Scott and the TMD Friction team for coming over to Martin House and for the kind donation. The care team were delighted to receive the speakers, and they will be used by our music therapists to help them in their therapy sessions, and by the families to listen to music in their rooms. As the teddies unfortunately could not be given to the children for infection control reasons, they will be sold in our shops to raise vital funds for the care we provide.
“Our Retail Manager was delighted with the rucksacks and will be putting them on eBay to ensure that we can maximize their value and raise as much money as we can from them.”

Scott Irwin, MIMI, Head of Technical Training at TMD Friction IAM added:

“TMD is a keen supporter of local charities, and it was a pleasure to visit and meet the hardworking team at Martin House and offer our support to this worthy cause.”

TMD Friction also came to the aid of MAIN – Taking Autism Personally, helping to keep the charity’s bus on the road by supplying braking parts via its Mintex brand. This ensured it could continue to offer key services to people, such as transportation to events and learning environments. TMD Friction also played a helping hand in funding the fitting of the brakes via a local garage.
