Textar adds 76 new parts to expanding braking range

Date: Thursday 19 August 2021

TMD Friction, through its Textar brand, has extended its ever-growing braking portfolio with 76 additions for the European market.

The new parts include 67 ABS sensors for popular makes and models, including Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Nissan, Jaguar, Ford, Polestar, Volvo, Hyundai, Toyota, KIA and Infiniti.

A total of seven new brake pads have also been added covering Porsche Cayenne, Cayenne Coupe and Macan (2014); Jaguar E-Pace (2017); Land Rover Defender Station Wagon, Defender Van, Discovery V, Discovery V Van, Range Rover IV, and Range Rover Sport II (2012); and Mercedes Benz A-Class, A-Class Saloon B-Class Sports Tourer, CLA, CLA Shooting Brake, EQA, GLA, GLB, GLE, GLE Coupe, and A-Class (2018).

The additional brake disc, part number 92159103 supersedes 92159100.

The company recognises that optimum braking can only be achieved with brake pads precisely tailored to the brake disc, making Textar the ‘perfect’ friction partner for any vehicle or fleet.

This results in a decrease in downtime as less time is spent repairing pad and disc wear and damage, ultimately providing increased value for money and total cost of ownership.

Utilising cutting-edge brake technology, Textar brakes are precision engineered to offer maximum safety, performance and comfort. This uncompromising approach has been the very ethos of Textar for more than 100 years. And it is the reason why Textar remains a trusted partner to the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers today.

The Textar brake pad range is manufactured in strict accordance to OE tolerances and meets the latest ECE R90-requirements.

The Textar product range of ABS sensors includes more than 250 part numbers and is continually being expanded to include new vehicle covers. TMD Friction offers both active and passive ABS sensors, which determine the wheel speed either using their own power supply or through inductive measurements.

Operators and technicians can find the products in the revamped online catalogue system Brakebook, which allows customers to create printable catalogues tailored to their individual requirements and in the desired formats.

Alongside the web-based version, the online catalogue is available via a free mobile app, which gives PC / CV operators and distributors an optimised version of Brakebook, available for both Apple and Android phones. Like its web-based equivalent, the app shows images of brake product, enabling users to easily compare the measurements of a vehicle’s pads or linings to the phone’s reference.
