Steering & Suspension ‘Tea-break Training’ highlights safety critical nature of chassis system

Date: Friday 30 April 2021

The Schaeffler REPXPERT technical team used this week’s online ‘Tea-break training’ sessions to raise awareness about its latest range of FAG Steering & Suspension components, to technicians from workshops across the country.

Schaeffler is recognised as a chassis system expert, providing high-tech components and systems to vehicle manufacturers around the world. Its FAG brand is a leading force in the aftermarket, supplying these same components as complete repair solutions to technicians that understand the importance of only using the highest quality components on the safety critical chassis system.

Many of these technicians attended the three sessions, held at the end of April, in order to benefit from the specialist knowledge that the Schaeffler REPXPERT team brings to its Tea-Break Training offer.

“The poor quality of much of the country’s road network and an increasing use of speed humps and width restrictions, means that steering & suspension components are in the frontline,” said Schaeffler Technical Manager and REPXPERT, Alistair Mason. “So, the importance of fitting original equipment (OE) quality replacements, and doing it correctly, can’t be overstated.
“The FAG Steering & Suspension programme has been designed and manufactured by the Schaeffler chassis engineering team and provides workshops with quality products they can rely on, which include all the additional parts they need in just one box. This means they can carry out a right-first-time professional replacement that will ensure the safety of their customer’s vehicle and its occupants.
“Steering & suspension components are safety critical parts, which is why our engineers have gone the extra mile to ensure that each item in the range matches, or in some instances, exceeds the standard of the OE fitment. For example, we use TPU boots (Thermoplastic Poly-Urethane) on virtually all our ball joints and track rod ends, which are much more durable than traditional rubber compound boots. In fact, every product in the range has been put through more than 555 hours of testing, so technicians can be assured that they meet the highest possible quality standards expected from an OE manufacturer such as Schaeffler.”

Everything that Schaeffler does in the aftermarket is geared towards helping technicians carry out professional repairs simply and efficiently, using the highest quality components. The addition of the FAG Steering & Suspension range is therefore a significant development, giving workshops a genuine premium quality alternative from a trusted supplier, along with market leading technical support via the Schaeffler REPXPERT programme.

Information on Schaeffler products and systems, fitting instructions, labour times and much more can be found on the REPXPERT workshop portal at www.repxpert.co.uk or by using the REPXPERT app, which is available free for all iOS and Android devices from the relevant app store.
