SMP Europe goes pink

Date: Thursday 20 May 2021

SMP Europe is going pink in support of those impacted by Breast Cancer, launching a campaign to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer charities, that provide life changing care and world class research into fighting the disease.

Breast Cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK, but over a quarter of cases are preventable (Breast Cancer UK, 2021). Around 55,000 new cases were diagnosed in 2020 in the UK, with a risk of 1 in 7 to women born after 1960.

SMP Europe has a large platform, both as a leading supplier to the global aftermarket and as the title sponsor of the Great Britain Ice Hockey Teams. The company believes that it’s important that we use this platform for good, and this is why we have chosen to replace many of our regular marketing activities with awareness campaigns.

Pink has long been associated with Breast Cancer awareness, and the striking colour will be used instead of the regular SMP Europe blue on all materials related to its Breast Cancer campaign.

The first time that this branding will be seen publicly will be the Ice Hockey World Championships where SMP Europe’s pink logo will proudly be displayed on the Great Britain’s jerseys and clothing. Marketing materials sent out to customers to support the sponsorship will also contain information about SMP Europe’s endeavour and ways to support its fundraising efforts.

More information on events and activities, both internal with staff, and with customers, will be released throughout the year.
