Simon Haynes - 9th October 1962 - 12th December 2020

Date: Thursday 21 January 2021

Following the announcement before Christmas of the sudden passing of Simon Haynes, his family have advised the IAAF of further details of the funeral.

Simon passed away suddenly on the 12th December 2020, aged 58, leaving behind a loving wife Sandra, and their two sons Mansel and Rory.

Devoted to his homelife and work, Simon was a loving, driven, focussed and selfless individual committed to supporting those closest to him. His family are devastated, and his absence leaves deep heartfelt sorrow.

As an extension of his family, Midland Vehicle Components (MVC) has equally lost a strong, passionate leader with a unique sense of humour. The loss will ripple throughout the automotive industry for years to come, an industry which he dedicated his life to.

Due to the current restrictions the family are having a private family service at the Heart of England crematorium on Friday 29th January at 11am. The funeral procession will pass MVC Coventry at 10:20am. If you would like to watch a live stream of the service, please follow the guidance below.
