Platinum International Ltd.

Date: Friday 11 March 2022

Established in 2002, Platinum International Limited have worked tirelessly to become the UK’s largest battery and lubricants distributor. Their commitment to customers remains consistent; to challenge themselves every day to find continual improvements and deliver the best quality products, brands, and service. Platinum work with quality ‘Tier 1’ global partners, which ensures they provide the highest quality products to their customers and through strategically placed Platinum Customer Support Centres, they service the UK and Ireland via their own fleet of vehicles and drivers.

Platinum was acquired by Alliance Automotive Group (AAG) in 2018, a leading distributor of passenger and commercial vehicle parts to the OE, Industrial and independent automotive aftermarket in Europe. This acquisition led to investment and expansion opportunities for Platinum as AAG, alongside their parent company Genuine Parts Company (GPC), form the largest automotive parts company in the world.

Despite global challenges faced in the last few years, such as the Coronavirus pandemic, market availability and supply chain issues, Platinum have continued to grow their product portfolio and invest in the OE and industrial sector, currently supplying more than 75% of the Access Work Platform market.

John Richards, Platinum Sales Director (OE/OES/Industrial) said:

“The acquisition of Platinum by AAG/GPC back in 2018 has been a key factor to our growth over the last few years. Thanks to the scale of GPC sourcing, Platinum benefits from access to a unique level of resources globally which has enabled us to develop this range. By purchasing together with GPC, we can ensure the best pricing and value for our customers and our sophisticated logistics network ensures we achieve on-time shipments and deliveries.”

Platinum are a worldwide supplier and since joining the group have sold in excess of 2 million batteries per annum, compared to 1.2 million before the acquisition. They have over 100 delivery vehicles in their fleet, increasing rapidly since the acquisition, allowing them to continue to offer next day delivery without any minimum order quantities or carriage charges.

Over the last few years, the group have moved a number of Regional Distribution Centre’s to larger premises to increase stock holdings across all product ranges, from OE and industrial to aftermarket car components, helping them to better serve their customer base and continue to provide the high-quality service they are known for.

As Platinum continues to evolve with new technologies and support customers in the right way, they operate with their existing teams who have over 300+ years of experience collectively in the battery industry, making them the number 1 access battery specialist for all your battery requirements.
