New technical director at FIGIEFA

Date: Thursday 03 September 2020

FIGIEFA has announced that, after ten successful years in the role, Neil Pattemore (see below speaking at the IAAF Conference) has retired from his consultancy work for FIGIEFA as of 31st of August in order to start a new phase of his life, no longer characterised by professional constraints and tight deadlines imposed by EU institutions.

FIGIEFA would like to thank Neil for his outstanding work over the last ten years. He handled all technical issues with his incomparable style, topics were always thoroughly analysed in order to achieve the best for FIGIEFA and the independent aftermarket. His ability to see the big picture and present complex issues in an understandable way was particularly appreciated. His knowledge, experience, commitment and personal authority have earned him great respect. Neil was only ever seen as controversial when he saw the interests of the aftermarket at risk, for example in meetings with EU institutions where vehicle manufacturers tried to take advantage of the aftermarket.

FIGIEFA have thanked Neil for the many years of personal and professional commitment, companionship and friendship, and wish him all the best for the new phase of his life.

After a handover period, FIGIEFA has now welcomed Ronan McDonagh as their new Technical Director with effect from 1st September. Ronan is of Irish nationality and has extensive experience in the field of automotive telematics. He worked many years for Pioneer and Aisin in the automotive sector. He has an engineering background and experience in product development, project management, product management and product planning in the OE, Aftermarket and connected service domains. He has lived for the past 25 years with his family in Brussels speaks fluent French. Due to his prior work experience Ronan also has a working knowledge of Japanese.
