Maria Costello heads to Australia

&lsquo,Queen of the Bikers&rsquo, Maria Costello MBE is to compete Down Under in the renowned International Festival of Speed.


Maria &ndash, who is sponsored by ignition specialist NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd &ndash, is to race an Egli-Vincent at the event which is being held in Sydney, Australia on March 22-25.


The meeting at Sydney Motorsport Park will see a host of racers from Australia, New Zealand and Europe competing in 50 races. ,


Maria said: &ldquo,I can&rsquo,t keep it in any longer, I&rsquo,m off to Australia to race a stunningly beautiful Egli-Vincent for Luis Gallur and I&rsquo,m over the moon. It&rsquo,s going to be incredible, I&rsquo,m so thankful, so fortunate and so happy right now, thank you Luis, for making this possible! I can&rsquo,t wait to be back at the International Festival of Speed.&rdquo,


Maria recently signed up to compete on four-wheels in the Historic Racing Drivers&rsquo, Club, running the HDRC &lsquo,Works&rsquo, Austin A30 Academy Car.


The HRDC series boasts an action-packed calendar, racing at several circuits across England including visiting the prestigious Goodwood circuit for some pre-race season track work. ,


NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd is a long-standing supporter of Maria with her Kawasaki ER6 supertwin motorcycle sporting an NGK-dominated livery as well as the LCR sidecar she raced last season with Kirsty Hauxwell.


The company has a long and illustrious motorsport pedigree, helping some of the most famous two and four-wheel teams and competitors to numerous race victories and titles.
