Important milestone for the UK Aftermarket: Retained Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation consultation opens

Date: Friday 22 July 2022

The CMA has opened its consultation on its proposed recommendation that the Secretary of State replace the retained MVBER when it expires on 31 May 2023 with a UK Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Order (MVBEO).

The CMA is seeking responses from all interested stakeholders by 22 August (5pm).

These responses will inform the CMA’s final recommendation to the Secretary of State on whether to replace the retained MVBER when it expires on 31 May 2023.

Mark Field, IAAF Chief Executive and UK AFCAR Chairman, said:

“We welcome the consultation into Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (MVBER) and look forward to providing detailed responses to the CMA. The contributions from IAAF / UK AFCAR have been clearly recognised, further acknowledging the significance of our input.”

The IAAF is now working on an evaluation document which it will be sharing with members to assist them when submitting their own responses.
