IAAF kickstarts 2022 by adding Rain Data to roster

Date: Wednesday 02 February 2022

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has kickstarted the new year by adding data cataloguing specialist, Rain Data, to its membership network.

Rain Data provides innovative data cataloguing solutions to aftermarket companies of all sizes, from small start-ups to globally recognised OE and aftermarket brands. Its aim is to help clients remove the time-consuming challenges associated with parts cataloguing, data conversion and data cleansing, which in turn will allow them to concentrate on promoting their products.

Syd Coxon, Managing Director at Rain Data, comments:

“We live in a Google world where people expect access to information simply and quickly, 24/7, and that includes finding the right part that their vehicle needs. At Rain Data, we like to think we can help our clients to get on in that world. It starts with good, clean data.”

The specialist business works closely with clients to ensure their data has the level of accuracy and coverage required to thrive in the fiercely competitive market.

Rain Data’s team has a vast range of knowledge, from the parts counter to software architecture, meaning it can offer data conversions with the understanding of what the customer’s data is trying to convey, at a competitive price, based on specific customer requirements.

The company offers delivery to multiple destinations, including TecDoc, Autocat, Topmotive, API, eBay and Amazon, from any source. Rain Data can also support custom formats and API integrations for clients with more bespoke requirements.

Tony Waddle, Director at Rain Data, comments: “We’re delighted to become a member of the IAAF. It’s a great fit because Rain Data’s values align with the federation – we’re passionate about the independent automotive aftermarket and the vital role it plays to consumers.

“We want to be able to support a wider range of businesses in the automotive aftermarket with our services, in particular our brand-new web app Codex. Joining the IAAF will help us do this.
“Our new game-changing software will make maintaining part fitment data, with output to multiple catalogues, simpler and more cost-effective than ever before, and we hope to spread this message far and wide".

As an IAAF member, Rain Data will have access to many of the federation’s benefits, including entry to industry networking events, insights into the IAAF’s lobbying activities to protect the automotive aftermarket, a free legal helpline, credit protection advice and lifestyle protection plans.

Mike Smallbone, Head of Membership Development at the IAAF, comments:

“Last year was another busy but productive year, as the industry continued to make great steps towards futureproofing the automotive aftermarket. Rain Data is a key example of a business that is making a mark within the sector, and we’re delighted to have Tony and the team on board.”
