IAAF fundraises for Ukraine

Date: Friday 25 March 2022

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has started a fundraising page for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

The IAAF has also reached out to fellow trade associations in Ukraine, offering support at this very difficult time.

Intense conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing millions to flee. Homes have been destroyed, essential services have been hit, families have been separated, people have been injured, lives have been lost.

The IAAF made a donation to the Red Cross at the outbreak of the conflict and is following this up with a fundraising page that allows aftermarket businesses to donate.

Richard Welland, IAAF President and WAI managing director, launched the campaign with a donation and is keen to offer support wherever possible.

He said:

“The UK automotive aftermarket stands with Ukraine and the purpose of the page is to galvanise support in the industry and make a donation to the DEC humanitarian appeal. Already, the sector has done what it does best, risen to the challenge and provided support to various charities supporting the humanitarian effort. We must ensure this continues.”

£30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month, £50 could provide blankets for four families, and £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month.
