IAAF Activity Report w-e 4 February 2022

Date: Friday 04 February 2022

A summary of some of the activities undertaken by the IAAF Secretariat on behalf of the membership and the wider aftermarket during what has been yet another extremely busy week.

Block Exemption
News of the EU’s proposed extension of BER puts increased focus on the UK automotive aftermarket and government authorities. UK AFCAR is urgently calling for the opening of specific dialogue about the subject of MV-BER renewal.

Access to data
The issue of Access to Repair and Maintenance Information (RMI) was brought into sharper focus this week, through a number of meetings. The reality of restricted access for the aftermarket – either through ignorance or obstruction by vehicle manufacturers – is quite staggering and IAAF is intensifying its efforts in this area.

IAAF College Visit
IAAF Chief Executive Mark Field and Head of Membership Development Mike Smallbone visited Heart of Worcestershire College in Bromsgrove as part of its IAAF Aftermarket Careers Pathway.
