IAAF Activity Report w-e 15 July 2022

Date: Friday 15 July 2022

A summary of some of the activities undertaken by the IAAF Secretariat on behalf of the membership and the wider aftermarket during what has been yet another extremely busy week.

Lobbying
Our lobbying, in a post-Brexit era, has intensified through UK AFCAR and we are navigating both EU and UK parliamentary channels. This week we are pleased to have launched a route for garages to highlight any infringements around legislation that we can take back to the authorities via our form https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/UKAFCAR

Communication
IAAF has plans to overhaul its website and eBulletin in the next few months. We have ambitions to promote our members more, and to offer an enhanced member experience. As part of our work with colleges, we are also looking at offering a facility for members to post placements and training from within their business.

We now communicate with 11000 garages each week via our products and services eBulletin. This has proven a great platform to promote member activity and also will enable us to campaign more broadly across the Right 2 Repair initiative.

Skills, Recruitment & Training
We have been visiting a number of schools and colleges and our remit has been to promote to them the wide-ranging roles available within the motor industry, further up the supply chain at distributor and supplier level. Going further, we want to facilitate more content from members – via an IAAF Academy – that helps shape a new person’s entry into the sector at any level.
