Excellent data quality on the rise

165 leading parts manufacturers in the automotive aftermarket were awarded the title of "Premier Data Supplier" by TecAlliance during the last evaluation in December 2021. The seal of quality, which was introduced in summer 2021, demonstrates the excellent quality of the product data in the TecDoc Catalogue, the world's leading replacement parts catalogue for the independent aftermarket.

Andreas Assmann, Director Data Quality Management at TecAlliance, explains:

"We are very pleased that the percentage of 'Premier Data Suppliers' has increased by 63 percent in just three months. This means that our Data Quality Management (DQM) measures are having an effect so that we are getting closer to our goal: Together with our industry partners, we want to make catalogue systems in the independent automotive aftermarket more reliable, increasing customer satisfaction at the point of service. With precise and complete product information, the user can quickly find the right replacement part. This leads to more sales and fewer returns," says Assmann.

Since its founding more than 25 years ago, TecAlliance has been committed to improving data quality and establishing uniform industry standards such as the TecDoc Standard. Currently, the TecDoc Catalogue database contains 8.8 million part numbers from more than 900 supplier brands and over 400 million product/vehicle applications.

The supplier evaluation is carried out quarterly. TecAlliance is committed to fully supporting all data suppliers to help them achieve the “Premier Data Supplier” status. This seal of quality indicates that their product data meets stringent point-of-service (PoS) information requirements.
