Autotech Academy sponsors former junior race winner’s Ginetta GT5 Challenge debut

Date: Friday 04 February 2022

Autotech Academy are proud to announce the sponsorship of race driver Ruben Hage, ahead of his participation in the coveted Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge this year.

Ruben’s progression to the Ginetta GT5 Challenge follows on from three highly successful years in the Junior Saloon Car Championship. And the 16-year-old junior race winner, is now looking to further his career with former GT5 champions, Total Control Racing who elevated drivers such as Sam Tordoff, Jonathan Adam, and Lewis Hamilton’s brother Nicolas, to racing glory.

Autotech Academy is supporting Ruben as he steps up to the grid this year, and the company’s logo will be featured upon Ruben’s helmet and car at each round of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge, a championship which is an integral part of two high profile race series in the UK - the British Touring Car Championship and the British GT Championship.

Autotech Academy was created by automotive employment and training specialist, Autotech Group in 2021 in a direct bid to build a pipeline of young talent entering the motor sector.

Partnering with young, high profile drivers with a growing motor sport reputation is a key objective for Autotech Academy, as it provides the ideal platform to communicate the possibilities of a career within the automotive industry.

“We need to demonstrate to the younger generation what an automotive career could look like and the many different specialisms,” comments Gavin White, CEO of Autotech Group.
“Autotech Academy was created to help young students, leaving college with an automotive qualification, secure employment within the motor sector through an internship.
"While Ruben’s achievements at such a young age is testament to what the youth of today can accomplish through hard work, the Ginetta GT5 Challenge showcases how many automotive areas that young people can get involved in and build a fulfilling career.”

While the Autotech Academy logo will be prominently featured at each race, which collectively draws a crowd of circa 20 million fans, the company will also be running a competition at each race giving automotive students the chance to work with the race team.

“I’m really excited to be representing Autotech Academy for the 2022 Ginetta GT5 Challenge season,” comments Ruben. “After meeting some of the Autotech team at my final race last year, we knew we had to do something together for 2022. The Academy side of the Autotech Group is something I can really get behind as its targeted at people my age. A lot of hard work has been going on over the winter months and I’m delighted to officially announce the great news.”

The opening rounds of the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge will take place at Oulton Park on 16-18 April 2022.
