SONNE – one year on - the ideal ‘free to choose’ solution

In the last year, HELLA has added to its brand portfolio by branching out into the UK collision repair sector with the launch of Sonne during the inaugural Automechanika Birmingham. Within its first year, the brand has been a great success, so much so, that it has increased its product range, as well as its team.

Sonne is building a solid reputation in the bodyshop sector, not only for its comprehensive range of high quality refinish paint products and ancillaries, but by providing an ideal free to choose alternative for refinish distributors and repairers focusing on performance, productivity and efficiency.

The portfolio includes Solid, Metallic, Pearl and Xirallic toners, the Sonne Hidrosonne Evo range of VOC compliant water based paints offers a palette in excess of 70,000 colours, with easy usage, high opacity and excellent drying properties. It is fully supported by Sonne ancillaries, including 420 high solid and ‘anti-scratch’ clearcoat products. A ‘shades of grey’ primer system, with both high build surfaces and wet-on-wet capabilities. There is also a range of hardeners and thinners to suit the temperature differences often seen in the UK, thus improving performance.

Furthermore, Sonne has recently introduced an accelerated thinner into the range, so bodyshops will additionally benefit from the 420 clearcoat curing in only 10 minutes at 60ºc and an easy to polish solution with excellent gloss retention. The thinner also reduces energy costs, cuts product usage and increases productivity, due to the time saving properties it brings to the entire process. Sonne is further extending its range with a new fast drying ‘anti-scratch’ clearcoat and fade out thinner available this summer, together with new sizes for existing ancillary products.
