Ring shines a light on top talent during industry competition

Date: 03-Mar-2017

Ring, the workshop lighting and professional battery care specialist, has agreed to sponsor Top Technician for a second year. The leading motor industry competition brings more than 700 competitors together to find the best technician in the UK.

The Aftermarket magazine Top Technician competition gives mechanics and those working in the automotive industry, including independent, franchised dealerships and fast-fit garages, the chance to showcase their skills and prove that their talents are the best the marketplace has to offer.

Competitors face a series of tough challenges including an entry quiz, practical challenge, 50-minute task and finally live training event before the overall winner is declared.

Marketing Manager, Henry Bisson said: “Top Technician really does push the contestants to the limit. As the rounds progress, the competition becomes even more fierce and you can clearly see the determination of those taking part. We are pleased to show our support for the competition for a second year.

“Top Technician is a great competition for our brand to be associated with and provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase our products. If they aren’t using Ring products already, we know that once the technicians have worked with them they will never look back. We can’t wait to see what challenges await this year and to meet with the winner of Top Technician 2017.”

The first round of the Top Technician is underway, the deadline to enter the competition is 13 March. After this date, the 250 technicians that answer the most questions correctly from the online entry quiz will be invited to the second stage.

The practical semi-final will take place at Paragon Skills in Bournemouth, with the final held at RMI Training Academy in Southam. Top Technician Live, the overall showcase for the competition, will take place at Henry Ford Academy in Daventry on Saturday 16 September.
