NGK names Salesman of the Year for 2017

Date: 27-Jun-2017

Ignition specialist NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd has named Kim Keilty as its Salesman of the Year for 2017.

The original equipment (OE) supplier of spark plugs, glow plugs, NTK Lambda and other engine management sensors, which also supplies a comprehensive range of ignition coils, presented the award at its recent annual sales conference held in Vilamoura, Portugal.

It is the first time 58-year-old Kim, of Leicester, has won the title; an achievement he is justly proud of.

He said: “I am very pleased to receive this award. It is the first time I have won it in the six years I have been with the company. I must say that when you work behind such a strong and well-respected brand as NGK and have such good products it is relatively easy to be successful. I am particularly pleased that part of my success can be attributed to the ignition coils sales I achieved over the past year, as that is a relatively new product range for us.

“I would like to thank all the customers in my area who are so loyal to the brand and without whom this would not have been possible and would like to pay tribute to my colleagues in the sales team for their help and also to all the staff at our Hemel Hempstead headquarters for their support.”

Prior to joining NGK, Kim, who is Sales Representative for the region east of the M1 corridor, spent 20 years handling trade sales for three branches of Nottinghamshire-based parts distributor Allwoods Automotive.

Mark Hallam, Marketing Manager, NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd, said: “I am very pleased for Kim. He thoroughly deserved this award for his efforts over the past 12 months.

“We have a very strong sales team who continue to display great professionalism in looking after our distributors and their garage customers, so for Kim to come out on top was a great achievement.”

For many years, Kim was a keen Lawn Green Bowls player, winning a number of national titles, now however he spends a lot of his leisure time walking with his partner Jane Porter.
