iaaf New IAAF CV bulletin
The latest issue of the Federation’s newsletter for CV parts members has been circulated. With the IAAF’s specialist sections needs in mind, the Federation has increased the frequency of its ‘hard copy’ bulletins to members. Members in the commercial vehicle parts market have just received their latest ‘CV Bulletin’ which includes news of the Federation’s work on access to repair and maintenance information from the truck makers; something allowed under the Euro5&6 rules but difficult to action for many companies. The bulletin also introduces members to the new chairman of the CV Committee, Mr Bryan Knott, along with a list of all the committee members. Together with market information, parts recall issues and preview of the CV Show, the bulletin is an informative read for all in the CV market. If IAAF website visitors would like to receive a copy, or if additional copies are needed, especially to send to CV operator customers, contact the IAAF office – use the 'contact us' facility on this site or telephone us on 0845 3131 506.

iaaf IAAF welcomes government statement on garages and MoTs
The IAAF has welcomed the government’s long-awaited statement on the Motorist Forum report into garages and MoT stations. The Forum’s report was called for by the government in the wake of its abandonment of proposals to reduce the frequency of MoT tasting – a proposal wholeheartedly opposed by the IAAF. “In certain areas,” explained IAAF chief executive Brian Spratt, “the report and recommendations from the Motorist Forum sub-group which looked into customer experience of garages and MoT stations, included some contentious items. We’re pleased to see that the Roads Minister has taken a balanced view of where the sector can improve performance, and his understandable reluctance to impose heavy-handed regulation on the motor trade. We’re particularly pleased to see that the Government has accepted the principle that car servicing should be carried out by technicians who can be identified as having current competencies to do the job.”
