BEN celebrates aftermarket fundraising at IAAF Dinner
Once again the IAAF Dinner was the venue for announcing the results of the aftermarket's fundraising efforts for the year.
Several companies and individuals were welcomed on to the stage by IAAF Director Brian Spratt, who also pointed out that BEN's full fundraising list for IAAF members already showed a total of £66,714.
Cheques were presented to BEN Chief Executive David Main by; Garage Equipment Services (£11,600), Unipart Automotive (£5,530), Unipart Commercial Vehicles (£8,780); making the total from Unipart Group £25,910), BEN-Telecom Alliance (£5,965), Professional Motor Mechanic magazine (£5,255), IFA-BEN Cricket match (£4,745), and Klarius (£5,000).
£3,000 was also donated by Valeo as the receipts from the sale of their 'Garage Hero' calendar, and the evening saw the announcement of the 'Hero' for 2010; Andrew Yull of Towngate Motors in Cleveland.
The traditional cash collection amongst the diners raised £4,662 which, by use of the 'gift aid' envelopes (which retrieves the income tax on the donations) swelled to £5,512.37
A grand total for the evening of £55,367.
