IAAF Independent Aftermarket Awards Winners
New ‘Parts Advisor’ award wins massive applause
Once again the ADF’s Annual Dinner provided the forum for presentation of the Federation’s annual ‘Excellence’ awards. And with a new category of ‘Parts Advisor of the Year’ there was more than ever to cheer.
The newly installed President, Tony Sackett, presented the winners with their awards, commemorative plaques and a bottle of Champagne.
In the Supplier sections of the awards programme, the ‘CV Supplier of the Year’ was Truck & Trailer Components, who were praised by the judging panel as, ‘having a comprehensive range of products supplied in the most professional manner”. General Manager Darren Miller accepted the award on behalf of his team.

After the announcement of a ‘Highly Commended’ assessment for Automotive Distributors Ltd – ADL-Blueprint, the ‘Supplier of the Year’ Award went to Robert Bosch Ltd. Robin Shaw collected the trophy on behalf of Bosch. In the judges’ words Bosch were clearly a company, “whose OE and technical product innovation and excellence is complemented by a programme of support and development for its partners.”

For parts distributors, the ‘CV Distributor of Excellence’ award was presented to national network company Intertruck, Colin Bate collected the trophy. “A national parts distribution service with excellent local distribution and whose expertise and dedication to customer service make them a worthy winner”, was the judges’ description of this year’s CV distributor winner.

In the general section, the ‘Distributor of Excellence’ award was won by CES (UK) Ltd., the Chester-based parts distributor, with Euro Car Parts as a ‘highly commended’ entry.

Steve McCann collected the trophy on behalf of the CES team, who were there in force to cheer their success. The judges described CES as, “One of the foremost parts distributors in the UK – a byword for business performance – powered by commitment to developing their staff, their systems and their partners, thereby demonstrating a complete and professional offering to their customers” There was also a ‘highly commended’ announcement for Euro Car Parts.

The very first ‘Parts Advisor of the Year’ was Rob Hicks, with Brian Millington and Philip Melia the other two highly commended finalists. The judging panel remarked that any one of them would have been a worthy winner, constituting a “very, very, impressive” line-up. All were identified as; “highly motivated, experienced, knowledgeable, commercially aware, customer focused, and with great communications skills.” All three are from branches of CES (UK) Ltd, this year’s Distributor of Excellence Award winner. As ADF chief executive Brian Spratt remarked, as he announced the Awards winners, “The quality of these finalists shows how that CES powers itself into winning our distributor award,”
The Distributor of Excellence and Part Advisor Awards wrap up an amazing 25th Anniversary year for CES (UK) ltd. During the year they have successfully piloted the ATA parts assessments, had their training centre accredited by the Institute of the Motor Industry, held a magnificent day for hundreds of customers and suppliers at Chomondley Castle Pageant of Speed, together with a full programme of technical training evenings for the customers across the North West and North Midlands.
Well done to CES, TTC, Bosch and Intertruck, and the part advisor finalists; in fact, to all the entries for the ADF’s ‘Excellence’ awards. Their high standards make the Federation’s Awards the ones to win !
