IAAF-D Annual Dinner
Party time for Independent Aftermarket !

Once again the ADF’s Annual Dinner proved the place to be for independent parts aftermarket people. Over 450 members and guests filled the Palace Suite at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at the National Exhibition Centre, and the room glittered with lights, candelabra, and the ladies’ dresses; all serving to give the traditional ADF party atmosphere. The four-course meal was praised by diners and members welcomed the inclusion of a bar counter in the dining room, allowing rapid replenishment of empty glasses! As well as the excitement of the Federation’s Annual Awards ceremony, the evening also allowed several member companies to present cheques for BEN building to a climax with a total of over £61,000 – see item below. |
The evening was rounded off by comedian Ian Irving, whose relaxed humour had everyone laughing and applauding; especially the Jamaican bob-sleigh sequence!
See you all next year !

Funds for charity swell as the Independent Aftermarket makes its mark. ADF chief executive Brian Spratt admitted he was “staggered and tremendously gratified” at the total of donations announced at the ADF’s Annual Dinner, held on Thursday 3rd December, at the Metropole Hotel, Birmingham. Having announced over £35,000 the previous year, the total at the end of the evening was £69,663; making this by far the biggest ever collection for BEN at an ADF Dinner. |
A succession of generous donors and hard-working fund raisers were invited onto the stage by Brian Spratt, to announce their totals. Many of these had worked all year to raise funds for BEN.
Intertruck £4,700 – GMF £1,000 - Unipart Automotive £10,434 – Opal Telecom £7,557 – Euro Car Parts £3,500 – Garage Equipment Services £9,300 – Klarius £5,000 – UK Batteries £10,000 – IFA £4,000 – ADF/BEN Cricket Match £5,100 – Jayar Components £4,070, plus the gift-aided cash donations resulted in this fantastic result for BEN.
Members and guests were encouraged to join in next year’s fund raising events for BEN; notably the GES-organised Karting Tournament, and the annual ADF/BEN Cricket tournament, which will be organised once more by Alan Seal who, for 2010, will be assisted by the team at SJ Events. Contact BEN or the ADF for details of how to be involved, and to let us know how you are intending to raise funds in 2010 for the motor industry’s own charity.
Well done, everyone !
