IAAF-D Annual Dinner and Awards 2010
First Annual Dinner as IAAF – new look enjoyed by all

The new livery and logo of the IAAF created a stunning look to the Palace Suite of the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham last night as the Federation enjoyed its annual celebration of all things aftermarket and recognised the Excellence that abounds amongst its members. IAAF Council Member David Russell welcomed everyone to the Dinner and took time to remind the audience that, as far as the independent aftermarket is concerned, the IAAF is the voice of the industry. |
He highlighted several issues with which the Federation has influenced the thinking and actions of government and European authorities, and instanced the formation of the Garage Section as evidence that the IAAF was embracing change and making progress. The Federation’s ‘Excellence’ Awards provided a high spot of the evening; and the worthy winners were:
Commercial Vehicle Supplier of the Year – ZF Trading
Commercial Vehicle Distributor of Excellence – Intertruck
Supplier of the Year – ADL –Blueprint
Distributor of Excellence - amazingly, there was a dead heat between
Allparts Automotive and Euro Car Parts

The Awards were announced by Steve Deeks and presented by IAAF Director Brian Spratt
A further high spot was provided by an exuberant Gyles Brandreth, ex-Government Minister, TV personality and author. Who confessed that he had never realised how an independent aftermarket had kept him and his family driving safely and economically for so many years. Poking fun at several IAAF figures along the way, he ended with a roar of approval when he chastised car companies’ attempt to create monopolies.
CAT magazine supported the event as part of its launch of the new look magazine.
